I lived at StFrancis Place for seven years and my husband and I finally moved out almost a year ago. I agree with all the other reviews that when Archstone took over the complex went downhill. Week after week trash piled up, the elevators were always broken, and the courtyard was a mess. We were planning to leave once our lease was up. We actually went from a two bedroom, to a one bedroom, to a studio! It was the talk between tenants that they must be trying to push people out. That could be the ONLY reason for the upkeep and the raising of rent. The simplest of repairs not being fixed turned into elevators always being out. The management office never did anything concerning just about everything. The leasing office under Legacy was employed with experienced people in rental housing and knew everyone by name. Under Archstone you would ask to speak to management and they were never available. They were never there and I think the new employees that were hired everyday didnt know who the people in charge actually were. I was seven months pregnant when the elevators were broken and never being fixed. Unfortunally we lived on the seventh floor. I had a rough pregnancy and walking up seven flights of stairs was not helpful. Reported it to the leasing office and was told repeatedly that it was going to be fixed. Eight months into my pregnancy I got stuck in the elevator. We had to move out. We could no longer live there and were forced to break our lease. Then of course were told that there would be a penalty fee. We would have never have wanted to leave if Archstone knew how to manage the property. Or maybe they do know and the penalty fee is just another bonus (along with all the other hidden fees)when people are fed up, cant take anymore, break their lease and leave. Something has to be done. Saint Francis Place used to be a place for a family.
