Not bad, but not luxury

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
The Telegraph Hill has a couple of one-bedroom units but is primarily studio apartments. You're paying more for the location than anything else; though the apartments are in decent shape they are old and you'll probably need to call maintenance to deal with plumbing issues about three times a year. On the plus side, maintenance is prompt and professional and due to the age of the building, rent control is in effect.
Neighbors are generally polite and quiet, though the property management group advertise it as short-term rentals so now and then you'll get someone fresh out of suburbia with no clue about city living. They learn quickly when half the building shows up at their door at 3AM asking them to turn down their music, though.
Parking: This is Telegraph Hill, I think close to three thousand people live on this side (on the hill, not in this building) and have to compete for about 150 parking spaces. The building offers parking, at an additional monthly rate.
Laundry: The on-site laundry facilities are a slow, poorly maintained, overpriced joke, but there is an affordable launderette literally across the street with oversize machines and dryers.
The property management company (Trinity) has something of a reputation for being evil. I'm really not expecting to see my deposit if/when I move and you probably won't see yours, either.
