Citi Apartments bought the building recently and has been making improvements, but slowly, and for their own monetary gain. What this means for us current residents is constant hammering that reverberates through the concrete walls all day and hallways that are all torn up and dusty, with wires hanging from the ceiling. It's a pretty secure building though, with a locked door on all floors between elevators and apartments. Though you're still bound to find a bum in the elevator room from time to time. The residents are all very friendly, and the manager is one of the nicest and most helpful managers I've ever encountered. Citi Apartments has raised the rent considerably, and the places really aren't worth it, even WITH the renovation. I don't care how pretty it is, a studio of under 500 square feet shouldn't cost $1300 a month. But if you can afford it, and don't mind the current look of the common areas, it's a nice place to live.
