Yeah, there are bugs if you live on a ground floor. It happens, I'm dealing with it myself but if you are so incompetent you can't go onto google and look up a way to get rid of them then you deserve the bugs. (they hate vanilla, catnip oil, and there are traps you can buy at the homedepot, a five minute drive away.)
I don't think the staff is so incompetent, they have gone very far out of their way for me several times to help me with my problems. When I had a faucet leak they called me within a couple hours and had it fixed the next day and installed other things for me while they were there.
Parking is annoying if you don't want to pay for a space. Its an extra 50$/month. However for SF that is not horrible. To get parking at the SFSU garage for a month its $80 and there are other places that are over $100/month. And the rent isn't that expensive compared to the same thing at other nearby apartment buildings. Its over 1500 for a one bedroom apartment not including utilities at the villas and the apartments at the other side of the lake are about the same as UPN and at least at UPN utilities are included if you are a student.
I have been very happy living here. Its a nice safe neighborhood with its own fire department and police patrolling it day and night. Its next store to the school and stonestown mall. Every shop you can possibly conceive of is within walking distance or at most a 5 minute drive away.
