Since I have had two experiences I will leave a general description of both

1) the first one royally sucked although at first we faked getting along. I'm now looking at housing reviews in depth - my mother and I filled out the housing form last minute as have many people with parental help anyway.

2)yes, the CAs are royal pains but I have an inkling that nothing is right in the state of management of San Francisco housing. What's with that' I changed my lousy living situation to a better one after an entire semester of wrangling with the Village office.

3) if you yell at them enough, you will get what you want but their charmed life attitude gets on my nerves because they have no idea what hardship is about, much less how hard people have to work to get into SFSU to begin with. the CAs have a prissy atittude anyway that reeks of ickiness because they live at the place for free.

4) I wouldn't be a CA even if I get paid to do a half-ass job of helping people with their problems. if they are going to badly match polar opposites for their kicks, yayas and hee haws, I have to say that I wrote a long complaint to the school about the way housing treated me. they matched me with someone I... don't think I would have chosen to live with myself.

they think somehow this works at the 20 level, it does not. the sophomores at the Towers are younger, therefore they somewhat fall under the inability to choose category, but choosing who you live with should not be a 50-50 crap shoot. it should be within the rights of the students. hell I say start a database where people can find and match themselves with the best people, otherwise the management gets a huge kick out of inflicting pain on others. its ridiculous not to mention a waste of money. I'm looking for a new place eventually but park merced has no garbage disposal. MoRAL OF MY STORY: if you find cool people who choose you as much as you choose them, less resentment and less of a pain to live with them.
