I've lived on this island for almost three years now...and it is far better than living in the main heart of the city. Of course there is some noise...some kids running around (PEOPLE...they're just kids...when we were young ... did we not venture out in the street at odd hours' or were you chained to the basement)' My car has been entered without my permission once on the island (and that person will go to hell for that)...but it has been entered without my permission twice already in the city...and in well lit areas (and whomever did that...will also go to hell). No matter where you live...there will always be noise...traffic....kids running around...cars being entered without your permission...people going to hell. It can be a bit ghetto sometimes...people dumping their junk in dead-end streets...that's rude...but I've seen messier things being dumped on Market street, the castro, Nob Hill, Twin Peaks, the Sunset...

The units are nice...and if you're lucky enough (not me and my roommates) you get a darn good view (we only see the tip of one of the towers on the bay bridge). The only annoyance is getting on and off the bay bridge...but other than that...living here is great. I'll only move out of here if rents in the city can match that of the island in a nice area-not some roach/rat infested corner of Market street...OR if the island begins to visually split in half.

As for the office...they're nice people over there...there have been some occasions of "i never saw the request" but...they work it out and take care of you. If you're having problems with the leasing office...perhaps you're too impatient.

I lived in the sunset district before moving to the island...and that was bizarre. Although the area was very nice and quiet... try renting from an individual who doesn't care about renters rights or agreements.

the parking is great...the views obviously beautiful...and with a bit more support from the residents...it can be a more comfortable place to live for everyone.

I'm staying...and I recommend it.
(I don't own a computer so I could care less of the DSL issue).
