10 minutes to the heart of The City, but not in The City. A place with grass growing in the front yards and the most spectacular views on the planet!!!

I live on the island and have done so on and off for going on 6 years now. The places out here were at one time family housing for the navy and their set up reflects that. Every bedroom will comfortably fit a queen size bed, a dresser, and a desk, and has its own good size closet. There is lots of additional storage as well. There is a shed outside, 3 additional shared closets throughout the house and a large amount of storage off the laundry room, which once you have found a working washer and dryer means no more quarters, ever. The yards are small, but I think that makes them easier to care for, and fenced. My dog, who is actually allowed to live with me, loves it. There is a large green expanse of lawn between the street and my front door. Utilities are included in the rent. The kitchens are fully equipped with such niceties as a dishwasher and a garbage disposal, as well as lots of cabinet space. Parking is Easy, many places have carports and driveways that will fit 3 cars, and we don't have street sweeping.

Muni runs 24/7 to the Transbay terminal.

The views are fantastic, there is a walking trail that goes around most of Treasure Island and affords amazing views of the Bay, the Bay Bridge, the City, The Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz, Marin, the San Rafael Bridge and the Berkeley and Oakland Hills.

There are lots of fields for Soccer, Baseball, Football, and my favorite to watch Ultimate Frisbee. There are Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, and Racquetball Courts scattered around the island.

There is a Gym that is free to residents of the Island and a cafi at the Marina. If you have a boat and are a resident its not hard to get a slip.

There is a convenience store, which manages to have most everything I need in a pinch. I went up looking for a head of garlic a few weeks back, and they had it.

There is no grocery store, but even when I lived in the city I would take the car to get the groceries home and the convenience store has most of the last minute items I need.

The bus ride can be loud, but the 38 Geary was no joyride either, and I was on that for a lot longer then 10 minutes!
