Parkmerced - Nothing More Than A Mess

Parkmerced has turned into nothing more than a mess. I've lived here since I was 2 years old. Things were fine up untill they changed owners in 1999. Things have down straight down the dumps since then. The rent first off is out of this world from what it was. And frankly what you live in is not worth the rent you pay. If I am paying over $2000 in rent I would want a place that is clean, quiet, and when you call maintenance they come with no problem. Thats what parkmerced use to be. Now its nothing close to that.
Parkmerced is now doing nothing more than trying to kick out the older customers cause since they have been here so long they do not pay as much rent and the owners dont like that. They want young new customers so they can charge more rent and make a bigger profit. They are now making all these changes to everything in hopes of gaining new customers and then they pass on the expiences onto us so we can pay out of our pockets. We didnt ask for these changes and yet we are forced to pay.
Another problem is the dogs and students. We now have students running around like crazy. They drive around like bats out of hell and almost hit the older people. I was walking my brother to school a few weeks ago and was almost hit by one of the students. They have wild parties, smoke weed in the halls and fill them with that terrible smell, they drink like there is no tomorrow, and they use our fire escapes as bathroom. The dogs bark early in the morning and late at night, they use everything as their personal bathroom, and the owners dont do anything to keep their animals under control. Its so dangerous now with the students and dogs. One night the students below us were having a party and they had their apartment packed with students, the lobby was packed with students, and there were students on the roof. Their music was full blast till 3 in the morning and they were all drunk. We called the cops and had them break up the party but not before two young men had a fight in the back and one was almost killed. As for the dogs, most are not kept on their leashes and they have biten a few children and adults.
Clean it is not. You have the students that tear up the buildings and the dogs that so the same. You have bugs left and right in the basement and in the apartments. You have rats and mice in the basement and apartmenst. This place is nowhere near clean. They have enough money for all these changes but they dont have enough to get rid of the pest problem' Come on now.
As for the maintenance and staff, NOW THAT IS A BIG LAUGH. Maintenance...lets just say that they were going to come to paint out kitchen before Christmas so it wasnt three colors any more, well they nevere told us Christmas of what year. we've been waiting for more than 5 years. The Staff, you try and talk to them and they give you this sound of voice like saying "oh big deal, I work here I am better than you. You cant tell me what to do".
Its just not fair that we pay so much and put up with so much for nothing. All we want are clean places that are quiet and that have people who are helpful.I would not even give my apartment for anyone to live in.
If you are looking for a nice place then take Parkmerced OFF your list. Its not worth it. They may show you one of the nicely re-done places but ITS NOT WORTH IT. You will be sorry once you move in.

The review is incorrect. The rent is reasonable. Yes, students are an issue. With better facilities, you get higher rents.
