I'm currently in the process of going through the BBB to file a complaint. The Villas are currently advertising their amazing property "newly renovated". When I signed, this huge promotion had taken over muni cars, stations, and their website...all advertising newly renovated property. Once I signed and moved in, I realized I'd been baited and switched. My home is one of many UNrenovated homes, and when I inquired, the pleasant Neighborhood Manager informed me the only way of getting a "renovated" apartment was to pay the extra 800 a month they charge for renovated property.

The Villas' business practices are shady, they overcharge you, and they ignore San Francisco's rent laws designed to protect tenants. Don't be fooled by that happy go lucky website...you're better off finding someone who's renting out a place elsewhere.

My wife and I lived in Parkmerced from 1964 until the beginning of 1971, when we bought our own home. The place was great then, with good management (first MetLife, then Helmsley-Spear) and good maintenance. There was a strict policy on who could rent and they did not rent to college students. Repairs were made quickly. We were thinking of returning to San Francisco and moving back to ParkMerced, but after reading all the reviews, we realize, sadly, that the place has gone totally downhill. No way would we move back there now. Thanks for the comments. You've saved us some heartache. It's a shame that what was such a great place has been allowed to deteriorate. How sad!

More Updates (03/02/08) Two room mates' cars have been broken into recently, with ipods, GPS, guitars and keyboards stolen. The Villas haven't responded to the BBB complaint. Ready to move out when my lease is up.
