7 reasons this apartment is horrible:

Moving into Parkmerced in June of 2007 has created more distress in an apartment experience than I have ever come across.
1: Our first official day here, we were greeted with a notice on our door that the construction staff had work to be done in the apartment above us, requiring they enter our home to work with pipes, etc. We walked into a bathroom COVERED in plaster and broken ceiling pieces, along with a gigantic hole in our ceiling. In demanding it be taken care of immediately, we had a hole in our bathroom for 5 days. Seriously.
2: The construction during this time was ungodly. The workers began showing up earlier and staying later. Because the apartment was empty AND we had a hole, we were being woken up at 6:00 AM and would hear pounding until 7-8:00 PM. This persisted until we called the office and complained.
3: Within the first month or two of our move in, we began encountering an ungodly amount of mold in our apartment. We have had at least 2 purses and a pair of shoes EATEN by the mold. It started with a cough that got worse and worse, until we noticed the mold BEHIND OUR BED. When we tried cleaning it, we found that the staff had not taken care of it, they had PAINTED OVER THE PREVIOUS MOLD.
4: On, I kid you not, 3 occasions, the apartment has lost our rent checks. Luckily we read the reviews before we moved in "just in case" and got receipts. When we brought up that we were tired of going to the front office they claimed that "it only takes five minutes to fix it." The problem is, with an apartment this big, they should be able to handle their stuff!
5: Our upstairs neighbor faced one of the worst problems. Her parking spot was double-booked. She was entitled to a space in the car-port, and ended up having to park blocks away. The guard on shift there apparently didn't do the greatest job, as her car was STOLEN from the lot.
6: Our bathtub drain had problems, and so did we: with the staff. Long story short, they never called me back, and after waiting for FOUR HOURS for someone to help us, I called inquiring where our person was. "I called you," he said. "A Chinese woman answered the phone I told you we'd be right there." Uh, no you didn't. Because I'm not a woman, and I'm not Chinese.
7: The "free" laundry card you get costs $10. This is a small price, but it shows you what this place is all about. To add, we went to the laundry room once. WHy, you ask' BEcause the facilities were filthy and the dryers are set SO LOW that when the first cycle was done in the dryer, we could RING OUT the water. After the second cycle, we took it home and hung to dry. We've never been back.
Although I have noticed they are taking strides (tiny, but strides) to better the complex (painting, etc) the rent continues to go up with every renovation, and I already think this place is WAY overpriced for what you get. Bottom line: Find ANYTHING but this place. I feel bad for everyone who gets sucked into this confusing hellhole.

I'm a resident here for just 4 months. I have bad experience about the maintenance office for Parmerced. I have scheduled an appoinment to have my door repair in urgent, but it tooks me 4 times to wait for this service but no ones is coming to fix my door. The office member keep saying someone had repair it, but sounds no ones responsible to this case. I had waited at the specific time that I require for the service guy come over, but really no ones comes. The most terrible is the 4th time I call them again and they left me a note that they missed us, and I dont hear any bell ring or door knock at the time I just sit and wait. They are just too mean to did this to resident by lazy repairing stuff. Where should I complaint to solve this problem? I don't know should I make the complain here and who I need to talk about this case. Please help me!
