I've lived in the towers at Park Merced since last July and know that I couldn't have it better than here. Our neighbors are actually neighbors; we know them by name. We're excited that new laundry facilities are coming, and recyling is easily accessible on our own floor. The place is pet friendly, decently insulated to minimize the occasional noise, and I generally feel safe entering and leaving the building whenever I please. It's great that our building is so close to muni lines, has views of lake merced and the pacific, and has a great community garden and farmers market that we frequent when we can.
Our only problem lies with the college students who live to party in the townhouses below us; people like them are likely a main reason certain places in Park Merced get low ratings for interior and exterior quality, not to mention noise. There are still many parts of Park Merced, not just our tower, that are beautiful and well cared for by residents and employees who take a lot of pride in the community they live and work in, respectively.
We can't spend enough of our time getting free espresso, playing pool and working out at the Park Merced office. Seriously, for what you get for the reasonable price to be a resident at Park Merced, you would let one heck of an opportunity pass by if you settle for some place else!
