I live in one of the towers at Parkmerced.

The unit we got looks nothing like the model. The floors are cheap, coated in something that rubs off. The paint cracks in several places.
The elevators are slow and noisy, and often have problems.
Rent is almost twice what my friends pay in other neighborhoods.
The views are great. We see a lot of Daly City as well as the ocean on clear days.
They allow pets, but you have to pay extra.
Some people on lower floors have problems with burglary.
We have had some problems with Maintenence.
The grounds are nice. We have several large lawns, a garden, and playgrounds for children. The grounds are maintained by a crew every Friday with noisy tools.
Our neighbors are rarely noisy; the occasional wild party.
The towers also experience false fire alarms at random hours of the day. Ask any resident.
