Ive been living in parkmerced for almost 12 years and I love it here. Don't listen to those people that say its cheep and the maintanence people steal, because its not true. ive been here 12YEARS and only a few problems have shown up and were easily fixed. The best thing about this place is that everyone is so close. You end up being so close to the people on your floor.
The only bad thing i would say is the noise from the college students in SF State. they always throw very noisy parties every saturday and its a little annoying. and also the vandalism is bad. but no place is perfect. and theyre doing renovations now so it will be even better. it has the 17, 28, 29, ans 18 lines very close by as well as the M. there are many schools, both public and private, close by. Lowell, Lakeshore, Brandais, St. Thomos Moore. There is also stonestown near by.

I wouldn't say Parkmerced is good place to live if you are not SF students. I definitely listen to the negative reviews in Apartmentratings because the negatives surely come up from the current residents, not from others like owner or staffs of management company. Things you wrote in this review could be written by management company. However, the negative reviewers write the things on here very specific and detail and the things that management company couldn't know or feel. When I look for a new apartment, I always check and listen negative comments on some apt review site. Realty comp. or management company only says good things about that property (of course they only say good things!). I really want to listen "true voice" !!!

This reviewer is lying and works for the management company or has been materially compensated by the management company. Check out the class action lawsuit currently making it's way through the courts alleging Villa's Parkmerced is circumventing rent control. Additionally be concerned that the SFPD regularly takes burglary reports with no forced entry... This means someone or a group of people have a master key and are using it to steal whatever they can!!!

If this person "Loves it here" why no 5-stars?
Yes, if you need to be near a bus line you should look at units close to a bus. But if you can't sleep at night because of noise you won't wake up in time to catch that bus!
