This complex has some problems and I am obviously not the only one who sees them. I have lived in many apartment complexes and 101 San Fernando is at the bottom of my list. Being in downtown, one would not be surprised to find that crime is extremely high in the area, and one would lead one to believe that the apartment complex would take precautionary measures to ensure resident saftey....but ob course not, they don't do anything about our safety. Even if one of us get killed, I'm sure they still don't care. They will probably try to jide the incident to unsuspected residents and even lie to their bosses at Forest City corp. The management is so rotten. The controlled access is a joke and rather pointless. They let my estrnaged husband getting in to the premise without my permission. When something does happen, they say they inform residents, but this is obviously not true, I saw a crime statistics page from

http://www.sjpd.org/PoliceDataFAQ.cfm

and according to the reports, much more things happen here than they disclose.
They will probably only inform residents when it makes the news.

My apartment itself is ok. I like the coronades and the colors. But I can hear my neighbors all too often. And I can always here people banging the hallway doors.

Parking is a nightmare as the management took away one of spaces. I have to now park my car across and have a hell of a time when I try to unload my shopping bags. And yes, this is a big money waster. I'm leaving here as soon as I finish my school.

No one cares (including some drug dealer and hooker residents). These are problems that do come with apartments - yes it is true. But safety and well being are things that should be a given.

I am guessing that the managment company has changed the standards for leasing an apartment at the community. There are a lot more people wandering around at night and a lot more shady looking individuals in the community.

Maintainance is ok. The really do try their hardest. However, the office staff doesnt seem to know what they are doing most of the time.

I would not recommend living at 101 San Fernando. Check out the other complexes before you lease. This one may look good at first glance but after you have been here for a few months it shows its true color ... the color g h e t t o.

I'm not going to break my lease here because I know they are going to add some unjustified amounts and they almost seem to want to make money by doing so. I'm not going to feed this people anymore than I have to.
