I have an upstairs, one-bedroom unit here and I like it very much. The office staff is very cooperative and friendly. When maintenance issues occur they have been minor and infrequent, with great response and effectiveness. My unit is very spacious, with plenty of closet capacity. You also get covered parking, which I like as well.
This complex happens to be very quiet, which is something that I greatly appreciate. A previous reviewer mentioned that the tranquility here may not appeal to those who wish for some "life" where they live. While I have no qualms with people who desire such a quality, I do not want to have to hear any "life" when I come home from a long day at work. The grounds here are very green and well-kept. That certainly adds to the tranquil effect. While the exact location itself on the fringe of Willow Glen may not be the prettiest, you are only a mile or so from Downtown Willow Glen and all its cool spots, such as Aqui Cal-Mex restaurant, Peets Coffee, and Taiwan Chinese.
Now you do not have central air or secured parking and there is no way to get a washer/dryer in your unit, but if you want those missing things, then expect to pay at least $1300/mo for your one bedroom place. Rents here are considerably less than that and quite fair compared to similar, less desirable complexes in the area.
If you want a pleasant living experience without paying a big premium for the utmost in luxury, then look no further than 1930 Almaden Apartments.
