I guess I'm one of the few that have had a great experience with Archstone's staff. Then again, I make a point to always talk to the same guy (Anthony) that initiated our leasing paperwork. Very pleasant guy! Anyway, my only issues were:

1.) The parking - Very ample parking. If you're not home by 10pm, be prepared to park outside of the complex/gate. However, the neighborhood (outside of the gates) is quite nice and safe. I've never worried about my car getting broken into when I've had to find alternate parking. It's more so the hassle of having to go in the gate, look for parking, not finding anything, then going back outside of the gate, parking your car, and walking back inside the gate, etc. You can "rent" out a covered parking spot or a garage though. Just expect to spend an extra $50-65 a month for it.

2.) Rent - Archstone is extremely overpriced! Don't get me wrong, it's nice. But, we just found a 3bed/2 bath house that was only $100 more then what we are spending for a 1bed/1bath. It's much nicer then Archstone, too. Not only that, I hear that the rent increases are pretty intense. Though, I never had the chance to experience that.

3.) Non Residents - There are a bunch of people that (I've seen) hop the fence to use Archstone's pool, etc. I've also seen a couple of shattered windows too (aka, vehicle break-in's). Not sure if it's associated with the same people that are hoping the fences. Either way, it's a gated community. People shouldn't be roaming around the complex, and using the pool. Especially, if they are not renters.

4.) Poor security - They don't have security that's regularly on site. I feel that they really need to have security and/or security camera's placed in the back portion of the complex. There's a lot of shady individuals that live near that area. Though I feel safe the majority of the time, there have been a couple of incidences where I've seen individuals walking behind the fence, in this grass/woodsy area. It's just kinda of creepy, if you ask me.

Those were my only concerns and/or negative experiences. Other then that, I think the place and the staff is really nice. The location is pretty awesome too. I love how everything is less then a few miles away. But yeah, just lower the rent and get better security. I think they will find that those are the two top concerns that most renters have/had.

I had Anthony as the guy that leased our unit. And he's fine. But as for the rest of the staff, my fiance has had nothing but lack of "caring" with them. Seems like I've seen other "luxury" housing that for the same price comes with more amenities and friendly staff. I just think their renewal rates have to be horrendous.
