This place seemed like a godsend when I found it, although the difficulty I had making the initial appointment and getting the paperwork in was predictive of my entire time here. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it is AWFUL. If you are on managements good side, life is good. If you're not, or if somebody has a bad day, you can forget it. You will be punished.
My dishwasher and garbage dispoosal have been broken since I moved in. The water used to be turned off at random times, including 3pm one Thanksgiving - the problems weren't fixed until the Metro newspaper reported on the problem.
Good parts:
- cheap rent
- quality building contruction from the 20's
- pho place and a coffeeshop right downstairs
- walking distance to MLK library, Starbucks, Camera 12, and the rest of downtown SJ
- no bugs
- comfortable apartments
- city views
- lots of windows
Bad parts:
- management bends the law and does illegal eviction notices
- cars have been vandalized and broken into in the "secure" parking lot
- NO visitor parking, even though there are spots
- laundry room is digustingly dirty and the washers leave your clothes smelling bad
- lousy heating
- no air conditioning
