Avalon On The Alameda

Prostitutes, bad office staff and drug dealers oh my... From: Goearthquakes Date posted: 8/29/2004 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004   Let me just give you some insight on what to expect if ever you move into this apartment community. Firstly, I have read a lot of the reviews about the office & management staff, sad to say it is all true. But you can't blame most of the staff, my experience is that it all stems from upper management down. The incompetence of Avalon's corporate HQ and their recruitment process is frightening. How they can recruit such unprofessional management and not be held accountable is beyond me. If this behavior was carried out in any other industry, heads would roll. If you have a maintenance issue with anything, expect that your problem will be addressed in about a week or two, whenever the office staff gets around to either answering the phone or getting the work order to maintenance, which by the way is the only shinning light in this review. When maintenance get the work order the work is carried out fast and very courteously. Be fair warned, if you come during the day the community looks nice on the outside, startbucks right outside your door, drycleaners within walking distance all of that is great, but come sun down it's a totally different story! From your front door you might see a prostitute being picked up, a john or drug dealer being arrested or a mugging take place, it's like the show "Cops" live! I just moved out a couple of months ago and just went back to visit a friend of mine last night and I was disgusted, the place has been going down hill for a few months now. Oh yeah, I'm sure it goes without saying because I have read all of the other reviews but the parking stinks!!! If you get visitors you might as well tell them to take the bus in because you will NEVER find a parking space. Additionally, car break in's are the number 1 problem with this community. Sure they advertise underground secure garaged parking but a couple of months ago 6 cars were broken into in 1 night!!! So, if you like drug deals happing right outside your door way, if you like your family and friends having no parking, if you like being treated horribly by the leasing management team and if you like broken things in your apartment going unfixed for days at a time, Avalon on the Alameda is where you want to call home...
