I don't know what everyone is talking about, but I love it here!

I have lived in these apartments since July of 2007 and it is easily the nicest apartment I have ever lived in. The apartments are huge and have updated appliances and lots of storage. The bedroom sizes are larger than any other apartments I have lived in or looked at.

As far as parking goes, I have never had a problem. I have an assigned spot, but my roommate has a parking permit for the open parking. She doesn't always get a spot super close to our apartment, but she's never had to park on the street. When we have people over, there is always street parking and you can also park in the store parking lots accross the street. We've never had anyone be towed. There are occasional break-ins that I have heard about, but that is true of any apartment complex. Don't leave valuables in your car and you should be fine. As far as other saftey, it is not an issue. We have accidentally left our keys in the door and our door unlocked on different occasions and nothing happened.

Our apartment has central air and heat, a full size washer and dryer, and a great patio. We live on the second floor and, although we sometimes hear the people above us, noise has never been a problem. We get compliments on how nice our apartment is every time we have guests over. Our neighbors are friendly and the community allows pets, which is great. Also, there is a Lucky, Wells Fargo, Longs, Starbucks, Home Depot, and Hollywood Video within walking distance. There is also a Taco Bell/Pizza Hutt and a great pizza place. The area is really nice and you can walk to the light rail station. You can also get to freeway 87 in under 2 min. It's a great location.

I can understand some of the complaints that I have read on here. The leasing agent we worked with definitely made things sound perfect when we moved in and we were not able to view our actual apartment before we paid the deposit. However, there is a 30 day period where we could have moved out with no penalty, which gave us peace of mind. And we were in no way disappointed with our apartment when we moved in.

Like every apartment, this place does have some negatives. The maintainece staff can be slow at responding to requests, but if it is urgent (broken washer and dryer, etc.) they come right away. They have opened the door without giving us adequate time to answer it, but there is a chain-type lock that can keep them out if you are really concerned. They are friendly and have always cleaned up after themselves in our apartment. The staff at the office are always friendly and helpful. I have never had any problems with them.

Bottom line: this is easily the nicest apartment I have ever lived in. It is not perfect, but it is incredibly close as far as apartments go. If you want to live in a place where you never hear your neighbors and always have a perfect parking spot, buy a house. You won't find that in an apartment. We love our place and, as I said before, anyone who has ever come over has complimented us on it. I think this is a great place to live and my fiance and I are planning on getting a two bedroom here when we get married in October. I would reccommend this place to anyone.

I am not an employee. I am just a happy resident who wanted to defend an apartment complex I enjoy living in.

definitely someone who works for avalon - making an effort to sound "unbiased" by throwing in some sugar-coated "negatives"
