We lived in these apartments for over a year and we were generally okay with the building ... except for our major mold and flooding problems. After a major winter storm, many of the apartments flooded, including ours which was on the first floor. Our living room and bedroom carpets were soaked. We were told the carpet would be cleaned, the problem would be investigated, and we would not be held responsible for the damage. However, up until we left, we were still having flooding and mold problems and had to fight to not get charged for carpet cleaning during our move out.
Upon moving all of our furniture out of the apartment, we discovered more water and mold damage in our living room. According to the maintenance crew, there was a problem with the drainage in the courtyard of our building. Thus, any time there was a major storm, our carpets would get resoaked. We suffered from bad allergies due to the mold. Overall, the mold and carpet worries made our stay pretty miserable.
In addition, the walls and ceilings of the apartments were not as thick as we expected. We were used to hearing every detail (EVERY detail, mind you) of our upstair neighbor's life. It also wasn't unusual to hear his dogs yapping away at odd hours in the night. We've lived in apartments before and this was, by far, the noisiest one we've lived in.
If you move here, good luck! There are better and far more affordable places to live.
