Far better now than in the past ... From: aprodite408 Date posted: 7/30/2004 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004   A friend of ours lived at this apartment community for a year before we moved here ourselves. The apartment is affordable, accessible to the upgraded Oakridge Mall, Costco, Trader Joe's ... everything is pretty much within walking or short driving distance! The grounds are well kept or are in the process of being taken care of (dead trees were a recently removed eye sore), parking is fine. We asked the staff why there seemed to be such a high turnover and the Avalon Bay Communities are firm believers in promoting within - many people have been promoted to different Avalon communities or have gotten a job in their field of study. Regarding crime: after checking police reports car thieves were caught in the beginning of the year. The "meth lab" ... per The Mercury News "It was not known what the man was allegedly producing ... he was booked under the suspicion of manufacturing ... drugs." Overall, I am absolutely fine with the apartment, other than the occasional party that my downstairs neighbors throw - it's apartment life and it's by far not a "ghetto" place to live!
