I have been a tenant at Central Park for one year. I find that the rent for my 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment is reasonable based on the age of the property and the location of the complex in San Jose (west). My apartment is centrally located on the property to everything...laundry room, mailboxes, pool and gym, garage, front entrance of the apartment, property management office, etc. With respect to the management, I have found them to be exceptionally courteous and follow-up within 1 to 2 days of requests for repairs. The maintenance employees are reasonably neat when making repairs. I appreciate the fact that repairs can been made when I am absent from my apartment providing I am willing to give permission for entry to my apartment. I have never had a problem with apartment employees in my apartment during my absence. The grounds are well kept and I have seen exterminators on the grounds working. The noise level is low, except during the summer afternoons and evenings when children use the pool and are having fun swimming. However, the pool closes around 8:30 p.m. and the area returns to complete silence. The complex's mail route is serviced by trainees and many times mail is misdelivered. I understand that the post office is aware of this problem and promises to rectify it. I appreciate the fact that when FedEx or UPS packages are delivered and I am not at home, the packages will be left on my patio or with the management office. With respect to parking, there is no visitor parking on the property and definitely one has to have their guests park at least 1 to 2 blocks away from the complex. The security gate is sometimes a problem, but usually the second gate works and you have to drive around the property to get to your space/garage. I appreciate the fact that security patrols the property during the night. With respect to garbage, it is located a distance from the apartments (about 75 yards), but we probably could use more dumpsters or have the garbage come more times per week. I appreciate that this apartment is near the 880, 85 and 280 freeways, 8 minutes from downtown and CalTrain/Amtrack and 10 minutes from the San Jose airport. The Pruneyard Shopping center and other businesses are within 5 to 10 minutes. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a decent place to live at a decent price with great management and maintenance follow-up. You can usually get a great move-in special. If the property and the management remains the same, I probably would only move because I work in San Francisco and would want to move closer to my job. This month I will be renewing my lease for another 6 months.
