Didn't even move in and they ripped me off

Well, I truly feel for the people that have had to actually live at this place. I am selling my home and needed a place to live while I wait for my new place to be built. I was told they would have a nice corner 5th floor unit ready for me to move into just a few days past my move out date of my home. I had my deposit there for about 2 weeks and it was about 2 days before I was to move from my home when I received a phone call from the Colonnade that the person who was to move out of the apartment decided not to move. They told me they were sorry and that I could come by and pick up my deposit. So I had to scramble and find a place to stay. I told them that I would be moving somewhere and out of town after that and I would be by to pick up the deposit later. When I returned I was told they had another unit that would be avialible June 3rd so I said to keep me on the list. after reading these reviews and visiting the complex a couple more times I decided that this may be a horrible place to live and that I would be better off living somewhere else. So I contacted them and told them I would not be moving there.
To shorten the story they cashed my deposit check April 23rd. And told me they would not be refunding my money. Then when I complained and showed them they were in the wrong they told me that I would receive a check withing 7-10 days that was over 2 weeks ago. Now they asked me to call the management company in LA who has told me they know nothing of my deposit and that they will review my case and then decide if they will refund it.
So here I sit wasting a lot of time and out my deposit for a place I don't want to live. all I can say is heed all warnings and stay away. BEWARE!!!!!

Actually thats not the complete truth. From time to time residents that give notice to move out, change their mind. It doesn't happen too often, but once in a rare moon it does. And in your case, it did. You agreed to another choice and we held the apartment for three weeks. We have a 48 hr cancellation policy. You then decided to cancel. In the end our corporate office did refund your hold deposit.
Just wanted our readers to get the complete story.
