Elan looks good, but it's going downhill. Maintainance is hit or miss. Sometimes they're there toot-sweet, sometimes it takes weeks. The official word from security is never to tow anyone no matter what. Ergo, people park in the loading zone, the handicapped spots, or across two spaces. The phone lines are in serious disrepair which affects the speed of your net connection. Maintainance claim that the wiring is fine because there's a dial tone, AT&T claim that the wiring is the complex's problem, so if your net connection crawls no one will take responsibility. The construction of the complex is fairly shoddy to begin with. Count on hearing your neighbors through the ceiling and floor. Expect at least a token ($50-100) rent increase every time you renew your lease. That may be a supply-and-demand issue, but be prepared for it. Finally, there are very few restaurants that will deliver to the complex. There are three pizza places (all mediocre) and that's it.
To the good, there are washers and dryers right in the units, which is the best feature. There's a small plaza adjacent to the complex that has a Starbuck's, an Una Mas and a Hobee's, and it's really close to 880, 101, 87, and the Central Expressway. There are several pools and gyms in the complex as well as tennis courts (with free tennis lessons).
In a nutshell, if you can deal with the poor maintainance and the location works for you, go for it.
