i filled up an application here and got declined the first time. they said my husband needs to be added in the application too to be qualified. so my husband applied... my husband was just about to start his new job... he didn't have an offer letter and they said that his manager's name and telephone number would suffice so guess what' the next day they said they need the offer letter but my husband couldn't provide it so they said my income is already enough. whadda' they declined me the first time and now i was suddenly approved''' anyway... we still continued. the day that we were about to sign the papers, they informed us that they need the renter's insurance... well... that was not explained from the very beginning and that our lease will start that day even if the paperwork is not ready yet. wtf' they didn't explain the details of what is needed. they have full of suprises... elyssa (who confused us through the whole process) even told us that we couldnt get our security deposit back.

as much as i like to live in this place, we just canceled the whole thing because we're very unhappy with their services from the very beginning. now we just got something better and cheaper with excellent services! i hope this doesn't happen to you. good luck in your search! ;)

You're ridiculous. Renter's insurance is a given and it's not smart to go without it. Thanks to the Esplanade for keeping people like you away!

So, How long have you worked there? Obviously, renter's insurance is good to have, but it is not necessary to be accepted into an apartment complex. I think that the person did a terrific job of declining because the couple would not get their deposit back and would have terrible service. So good for them!

What is the name of the better and cheaper place you rented? I am currently looking and would love the opportunity to check it out. Thanks.

As a tenent of the Esplanade for 2 years, I can say with confidence that the property has gone downhill since the current office management came on board. The office team lacks tenent relations skills, it appears that they do not care. This office has a very bad reputaion among existing and former tenents for doing exactly what this poster mentioned. Depending upon who you talk to, you'll get a different answer. I try to avoid the office. Oh, and the tenents they're letting in right now... NOISY, the police have been called to this property twice in the last week and a half, why am I paying $2000 a month to deal with this?
