When I moved from RTP area in North Carolina to San Jose in December, 2000, the apartment rent was extremely expensive so I had to find a reasonable one. La Terraza was reasonable although the apartment itself looked quite old. The first winter here was a nightmare since the heating was not working correctly. I asked to fix the heater in a written request but they never actually fix the heater. It just kept running all day so I had to stop the heater and keep the fireplace running all day. Neighbors upstairs were sometimes very noisy. One night someone called the police since thye were partying until late night and I was awake and outside. They moved out eventually. One day in Jan, 2003, I found someone broke into my car and took everything inside, literally everything. Later I found several lights in the parking lot were broken and break-ins were not uncommon in that part of San Jose. Management people were not so informative to precaution us against petty crimes around the place. When I stopped by the office to inform the break-in, the first thing I heard was that was not their responsibilty. Right but wrong since they did not precaution us.

Any body can have their car broken into anywhere. If this is concern buy a car alarm it is simple as that. I have a car alarm and have never had my car broken into here ever or anywhere for that matter.
