My experience in North Park has been going downhill fast. The first two-years I lived in Cypress. Other than the bad pubilc barbeque area, I didn't hvae major complaints at all. It was quiet in the gated area; tenants were generally nice.

But everything changed since I moved in Laurel two years ago. First was the tenants. I am not sure how a property should screen the potential tenants. But it seems Laurel got the all the bad apples. People leaves trash on the floor in the trash room, in the elevator, in the garage. People deliberately damage properties. The worst thing I had is noisy neighbours. In the last two years, I've been bothered many times (15-20 times at least) by drunk punks yelling after midnight in the courtyard and their apartments (and I ranked this the worst), kids screaming around midnight nonstopping and their parents just leave their windows open, or by people talking on their cell phones loug on their balcony 7 or 8am Saturday or Sunday morning. The management office used to take complaint about latenight noise, but they didn't little to stop it. And finally they ask tenants to call non-emergency police line (cause they don't want to handle it and they know the police don't give a damn).

North Park calls itself pet friendly, but when you have neighbours with dogs barking all day long, there is nothing you can do but suffer. I agree that this place has some nice landscaping work and relatively new facilities. But hey, that can not be compared to all the bad things happening here.

that definitely is unfortunate. i think the actual apt. number has a lot to do with it. I had neighbors below me that I could hear a few times (loud tv or something). So one evening, I personally went downstairs and asked if they could keep it down past 10 on weekday evenings. They apologized and said it'd never happen again. It hasn't. So, I empathize with you, and I must have just had a stroke of luck with my neighbors and area. But, we're not all bad :)
