The Laurels Office Manager Harrasses Her Tenants on a Regular Basis

The Irvine Company should re-evaluate whom they hire to run the Leasing Office. The current manager is despicable, she treats people with very little respect, and our paying rent there likely contributes to her pathetic paycheck every month. Gladly, we are moving. It is a shame because the people who live there are lovely and personable.
I have been harrassed by this woman who lacks any professionalism and seems to function on a single brain cell. With life being chaotic and busy she seems to have nothing on her hands to do than write useless letters that gets placed on the tenant's doors.
Hopefully others come forth and write to the Irvine Company Management to get her out before more tenants move out. People pay high rents with very little in return. I'm disgusted. People complain about her while they sit and soak in a hottub. Very sad.

Hi there anonymous,
I am the Community Manager of The Laurels. I've been an employee of The Irvine Company for over 4 years. Hired originally to manage the new construction of Laurels and then promoted to The Redwoods new construction, and, recently moved from Redwoods back to Laurels as a promotion. I have an excellent standing in the community and in my industry. I've been a Community Manager of properties in this neighborhood for over 16 years.
I am completely willing to discuss what's upset you in the past. However, I cannot hope to resolve those issues without discussing it with you. My direct email: ksilver@irvinecompany.com. I have an open door to the residents at Laurels. And, I hope that perhaps I can improve your outlook. It seems as though I have made an impression however; not a positive one. Often, in my position I have to make desicions that may not be what someone wants however; I try to meet the needs of my company and also compromise with residents within the limits of my ability. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
Kathleen Silver,
Community Manager

Unfortunately Laurels Community Manager, while you think you have some level of power - you don't! In speaking with other unhappy tenants they said that you are merely someone who manages an office and collects rent checks. In your position, you must exude professionalism, courtesy and good judgement - and in all cases - your customer is always right! No one that I've talked to is interested in your opinion, they just want you to get off their backs and not meddle in people's lives. You are there to provide the tenants with a service, and it seems you are keen on harrassing your tenants. There is a great family living there now who are absolutely wonderful, whom you have been very unprofessional to. You have acted inappropriate, and while I was going to recommend the company I work for to rent out apartments for Corporate use, I changed my mind about the recommendation, because you would likely treat any prospective tenants in the same tactless way. I don't respect you and there are about 30 other households who at the moment are looking to move out. So your door is open enough for your tenants to walk out of it. You are correct in saying that you have made a bad impression. That cannot be fixed.

If you're on-time with rent and water payments...You don't hear a peep or see a single note on your door from The Laurals staff during tenancy. Perhaps you should have paid your rent on-time like the rest of us did.
