Unfair rules for Internet and Cable / Dish services...Consider the review before moving in...

This apartment complex has good location and land-scaping with good quality apartments....but....please consider the following before moving here...
This apartment complex has wierd / unfair rules for cable services and high speed internet. Comcast services are not allowed and you will have to go through lousy AT&T Home entertainment service for cable (that doesnt offer international channels or high definition channels) and AT&T DSL for internet service that takes forever to start. My several request to upgrade the DirectTV dish to have HD channels and international channels were shrugged off...
I installed a direct TV dish on my balcony and in less than a week from the day I moved in I got a notice from leasing office that I have to remove the dish (I had to pay 400USD cancellation fees and removal charges)....It is quite unfair that other apartments in the community has dish installed in the same location and same way.... they were not told to remove it....they still have the dish.... I feel like a slave living in this community as I can not have High Definition programming....or international channels....or faster internet service due to unfair arrangements made by the community management...
Lot of my neighbours and others feel the same way....All other complexes like (Pines, Redwoods, Oaks and Cypress) have Dish Network with high def and international channels...only Laurels have these unfair rules and constraints...please consider this before making your decision...

I'm sorry, but a slave? I wouldn't compare your experience with slavery, they did not have any luxuries what so ever, including freedom!

BIGGEEK: what everyone else believes is that you are shooting your own self in the foot. Clearly with all the "news flashes" about what The Laurels will be doing in 2011 -- wow, I have to admit, you are definitely very well informed. You related to the Community Manager? Is she feeding you information that other tenants don't have access to? You are BIGFOOT, don't start talking about CHEMTRAILS (only intelligent people are allowed to delve into such deep subjects), and facilitate a UFO embarking into outer space. Everyone here is sick and tired of your bullying. Surely you may want to refrain from any future postings! Anonymous 1

By law, The Laurels are required to allow you a satellite dish on a tripod on your balcony. However, you cannot extend a satellite dish beyond your balcony as it might dislodge and fall on to someone below. I lived on the top-floor inside north-facing Laurals courtyard...My neighbors managed to set up a tall SDTV Dish Network tripod on their patio that extended enough to just peek over the roof for service...But a HDTV dish was apparently too top heavy. My patio was blocked by a faux chimney and I couldn't get the same 3rd party satellite SDTV arrangement even if I wanted to, much less HDTV. If you want HDTV...Don't assume...Do due-diligence vetting on the apartment beforehand. PS. While the newer North Park communities will have default access to HDTV broadcasts...The Laurels community satellite dish will be upgraded to accept HDTV singals in 2011...If that helps! LOL! PS. eternalhappiness is a batsh1t moron who is convinced that I'm a management shill...Probably also believes in bigfoot, chemtrails and UFOs. PPS. Anonymous 1 I was well informed because I ASKED the management, you stupid m0ron. Take your "everybody" and "everyone" (which consists of only you, you little OCD freak) and go pound sand.
