There are no good reasons to live at The Laurels. The apartments are as good as or worse than anything else you can find in the area and are no cheaper. The construction is shoddy and there is no privacy due to thin walls and floors. The amenities they offer are of low quality. You are paying excessive amounts for a low grade product. The management at The Laurels is incompetent and they do not know how to run a business. Our apartment had some maintenance issues that were not our fault or responsibility as stated in our lease and in California State Law, but over a year later they are trying to get money out of us and refusing to settle. The management and staff are unresponsive to questions and continuously say "we will get back to you" without ever responding.

You hit the nail on the head when you said the management is "incompetent". I have to say I am very surprised that the Community Manager is still in her position. She is either well connected within the parent company or she has something over their head that prevent them from firing her. I have never seen anyone like her, she has this air about her, like "This is my world and you just happen to be in it." Very unprofessional, very uncaring, and just plain pathetic. She is a joke. She clearly has no clue as to what she is doing. When you're a good manager, you don't get unhappy residents going up online to display their disatisfaction. Her personal life must be a disaster, I can't see how anyone would want to be her friend. Even the guy going there to install the gym equipment thinks she is something else. Everyone she crosses paths with, including her own maintenance staff, think she is ridiculously bossy and rude and just ill mannered. Not worth the headache. There is a whole world out there to explore beyond The Laurels. I see I am not the only one to have had problems with her. She is vindictive against everyone who stands up to her. Reminds me of the wicked mother in Snow White. If you find apples on your door, don't eat them!

I lived at the Laurels back in 2005 I think when they just opened. And their apartments were CRAPPPPYY. Geez! Under the breakfast nook there were nails sticking out underneath. The walls are super thin. everytime I showered the smoke alarms went off in the entire building. The garage gate was broken 70% of the time. And you gotta love their 3 1/2ft pool!! I was sooo dissappointed. When it was time to move out me and my roommates dropped our keys in the night drop box and they really tried accusing us of never returning them and tried to charge us. It was such a battle with them and for what? they were banking so much money at that time and I am sure the prices increased drastically.

Totally agree with their management, they are nice, but very unprofessional, doesnt know what they are doing and repeating the same phase like a recording machine when it get to situation handling.
