Oak Park Apartments

Will recommend Oakpark apts, but read below.. From: sri1ram Date posted: 12/4/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007   Pros: 1. Pretty prompt service and helpful management/maintenance in general. Out of the 5-6 times that I needed to call them over 2 years, once they have come 5 days late, but they appeared pronto on a reminder. 2. Good value for money. When I came here they were giving 1 br at 900$ MONTH 2 MONTH.. Has worked out really good for me. They have increased this to only 950$ per month in Jul 2007, when the average 1BR in this ranking and category in San Jose is 1300$ or above - so its still a nice deal (New tenant rates are 1200 1BR and 1350 2BR) 3. The hall is pretty big in my 1BR. I have been in the more expensive Avalons and Archstones, this was by far the biggest hall with good patio and balcony. Closet space is reasonable. 4. Free treated water and garbage - not so with almost all other complexes. Power is also low (20$/month) Maybe other complexes pilfer! Cons: 1. Does not look great from the outside. But once you see the lush greenery inside you may quickly change opinion.. at least I did. 2. Not a great swimming pool or gym (Though GYM has a good collection of books) 3. Elizabeth was allright.. Not so good as some claim but not bad either.. She could be curt and irritable at times, but mostly cheerful.. This does not matter as of 2007 March, both Gale and Liz were replaced by management. 4. No washer dryer in house or even supported fixtures. Laundry facility in weekends is a bit busy at times. 5. Crazy towing - had my rental in MY spot and the towers released that only after a 250$ payment. 6. No AC in bedroom (only heater). Need to keep balcony open in summer. 7. Not a good quality carpet - gets dirty fast.
