Been here three years now and have had a few occurrences with the management where I was treated quite poorly. One time, they lost my rent check (which I had handed to a gal at the counter) and then told me I had to replace it with a certified cashier's check, at my expense! Another time I was told my utilities would go up 90% because I had two toddlers spending half their time with me.
Nothing in the front office happens like they say it will. The staff is wholly focused on getting new renters and completely dismiss the existing renters. The first two times I renewed my lease, I was given a $200 gift certificate as a bonus. The third time, it was down to only $100 and my rent went up by $200 per month. We're definitely paying for the new building.
Also, the pools. One of the great amenities I moved here for. They are solar heated only which means they don't start to get warm until the first part of June and only stay warm until the first of September. The remaining 8 and a half months they're freezing.
We pay for electricity, water, garbage AND sewage. More than any apartment I've ever seen. And, for all the money they draw in here, I think it would be nice to have a car washing stall some where in the back parking lot.

That's funny because the office actually lost one of my checks too. They took another check- but I had to pay for the stop payment on the lost check myself. And they always call me to submit proof of renters insurance like 3 or 4 times a year. It's strange how files/documents never make it to our renter's file. I wish they would clean the hot tubs more. They look kind of dirty. My rent increase last year was only $100 so I am worried that the increase this summer will be much more steep. And I was thinking- if they are increasing everyone's rent- they could at least clean the pools and hot tubs instead of buying crap like those nifty new expensive looking golf carts they around in.

You pay for electricity, water, garbage, sewage, AND renters insurance. Don't forget that! It's a requirement to rent here and another $150 per year or so added to your costs.

^HAHA Couldn't agree more about those golf carts & the pools!!! They advertise the sparkling huge pool on the billboard... Well the pool I am allowed to use is FIVE FEET DEEP. Yes... Five feet deep!!! Only HALF of the jets in the hot tub works, and the NONE of the jets work in the other one!!! I'm moving out of here by the end of the month since our rent is increasing by $200. This place looks great but is NOT worth it. Oh, and they've asked us for our renters insurance 3 times this year as well.
