From the outside the place looks great but once you start living here things start going down. Now they want to raise our rent again for the smallest 2 bed room there is no way I can see anyone paying 2000. Well that will not be me. I have also noticed that no one seems to stay longer than 6 months. I guess I should have gotten then hint when no one would stay. I think my biggest pet peeve among all things I despise, is that it takes 15 minutes to get hot water.

I have lived here at Santa Palmia a few years as well. I have also noticed how quickly my nieghbors have turned over. I am dreading my rent increase in a few months. Sounds like I'll be getting a rent increase of $400 as well......

If the apartments here at Santa Palmia were more insulated- meaning that you didn't have to hear your upstairs neighbors EVERY move, that you didn't have to listen to people passing your front door, if management got a handle on the neighbors who like to blast their music at 3 o'clock in the morning, if the hot tubs were cleaned so you could use them, if security were able to do their job, if management were more responsive and respectful, and if the apartments heaters and AC units worked properly- then I think the apartments here would be worth $2100 for a 2 bedroom.
But the construction was shotty and cheap. Although the grounds are beautiful- living in an apartment here CAN be a nightmare depending on your neighbors and if maintenance can fix problems in your apt. I think our apt is worth $1700 but not worth $2100. I just think Management is taking advantage of the shortage of apts in the San Jose area. Because wages are not keeping up with the cost of living round these parts.

I wonder if Management will run HUGE move in specials to fill up the new buildings- and in doing so- will allow more **less than desirable** people and more college kids to move in. If so- then i feel sorry for the new people who are good people who fall victim to the move in specials- will have to live a year below Animal House and will get a huge rent increase to bring their rent to market rate when their special expires. Good luck to you all. My advice- get the top floor!
