This is a good centralized area if you like living downtown. The parking is minuscule. If you have one car and few visitors, it is okay. Parking on 4th Street is limited because of permit parking. On the 3rd Street side of the complex, residents lost their parking because Notre Dame rebuilding took over the whole block on the Third Street side of the complex; in addition, students at the school and at the SJ University take much of the day parking at the south side of 3rd Street under the overpass. Plaza Maria is a Catholic affiliated development and it is no surprise that parking was abruptly lost to the adjacent Notre Dame Catholic girls school. There was no public discussion. If you are unaware of the parking situation, you can get ticketed in permit only zones, school drop off parking zones (Mon-Fri- a mad rush, driver rudeness, & double parking) and street sweeping days. The grounds of Plaza Maria could have been kept more in line with the original landscaping; it is nn longer as attractive. They try to be selective when interviewing prospective tenants. Tenants are friendly and the complex is family oriented The management is wonderful, hardworking, and attentive to the community.
