I wouldn't go so far as to say San Pedro Square Apts is a nightmare to live in, but its definetly not anywhere to get excited about either.

The property manager is no good. He really doesn't care about the property or his tenents. Its quite obvious that he's just doing it to get through school. He may return your calls promptly, but he never follows through and misses appointments regularly. My favorite is when he changes the code to get into the building and doesn't tell his tenents. Yea, real smart buddy.

The rooms are small and they only have small kitchenettes with small refridgerators and no stove or oven. The counter space is pathetic. Its nearly impossible to cook a meal. Plan on eating out all the time and using the kitchen as your reheater.

There is no A/C which really sucks cause these rooms get really hot in the summer. The windows aren't arranged for a cross-breeze even. And on those hot nights when you have to leave the windows open to try to keep from sweating in your bed, you have to use earplugs to keep the noise from the Brittania Arms karaoke nights from keeping you awake. Leaving those windows open also allows for tons of dust to come in from outside (mainly from the A/C vent/fan for the restaurant below you).

The phone and cable jacks are sparse and in bad locations. I have to string a phone line across my floor in order to get internet access to my computer.

There are no closets or storage space. There's only a cheap fiberboard wardrobe that sticks out from the wall and is quite an eyesore.

Parking is a freakin nightmare. There's a parking garage acoss the block, but its $100 a month with no guaranteed space.

On the upside, I've never been concerned for my safety. The neighbors are not social, but not nasty either. The walls are nice and thick sound is never a problem.

Considering all the downsides though, the rent is still pretty high in comparison to much nicer apartments with only a bit more for rent.
