Yo!

Nice for an SJSU student

I'm an SJSU student living at San Pedro Square Apartments. I've got a larger corner studio. Utilities are included with rent which is nice. Free wifi sucks, I caved and ordered DSL from SBC for $30/mo. Parking on the street sucks, I caved and got a garage pass for $100*/mo at the Market street city garage. Yes, location is nice. There are quality restraunts/clubs/bars/venues everywhere. Walgreens is 1 block down, Zannato's is 2 blocks down. It's pretty close to school (0.7mi walk 15min). If you don't want to walk there's the free DASH shuttle to school with a stop right across the street every 20min. It can be noisy at night, but not every night. Mostly loud drunk -------- leaving the club Miami at 2am maybe once or twice a week. Traffic/parking is kind of bad on nights with Sharks games; Sharks fans are a nice bunch though. The light rail is a block down (free with SJSU id/pass) for easy commute to Mountain View, Santa Teresa, Almaden, or Alum Rock. Common areas are kept clean. Hallways are shampoo'd/vacuumed regularly. Exercise room is small but sufficient. Laundry (indoors) costs $1.25 wash/$1.25 dry for small loads. Neighbors are quiet, but rarely seen.

So, for $725 $100 $30 = $855, you're getting a studio that's 40% larger than the new SJSU single studios for about $100 less (and you're not required to buy an SJSU meal plan). The walk is really not that bad. The smaller (non-corner) studios here go for $600-$650 but I don't recommend them (excrutiatingly tiny). As a dorm substitute this place is very nice. Though, I don't think I'll stay here longer than I am going to school.
