okay, so i lived here for only a year, but i've seen a lot of shady business during that time..
for starters, my car was broken into the first month of me living there, and the hoodlems ripped out the stereo out of my car, completing disabling my fan (they're not even good thiefs, I had my entire CD collection in the back seat, and my digital camera in the front seat, but they left that stuff, but that allowed me to put in a decent stereo, with an alarm system (an absolute MUST if you live in this 'little mexico' (not to be racist, but that is the predominant ethnicity in this area)
what else, well once our kitchen sink exploded, and i don't just mean our sink was clogged, it was a f*ing old faithful in there...not only was the water brown and probably hazardous, but there were chunks of chicken bones/meat and other various food particles that were not mine coming up through the drain, and to top it off, all over the counters and on the floor....called mainantence, they said they already took care of the problem downstairs, but left the mess for me to clean up, f*ing disgusting, considering it wasn't even my food.
Parking is impossible if you don't have an assigned spot. I had two other roomates (both with cars) so I was usually left to fend for myself when it came to finding a spot. The so-called 'visitor' lot, is the home to countless drug deals, and half the cars there don't even move - EVER! (you can tell because the leaves and dirt build up around the tires, which are usually flat anyways)...If you park on the street, good luck, half the people that live there don't know how to parallel park, taking up two parking spots with one car. More often than not, if coming home after 9 or 10, you won't find parking on the street or in the lot, and you're better off parking in front of the church on lucretia, a long hike if you live over near the office parking lot.
Okay, so i lived right on the street, Summerside dr, right next to the office parking lot. Every morning at 5am, the field workers come and lay on their horns to get their other strawberry picking amigos out of their apartments. If you sleep with the window closed, you suffocate, and if you leave it open you wake up to the sound of blaring car horns at all hours of the morn.
I don't allow my girlfriend to walk alone from her car through the complex, there are too many shady lookin people around here, just loitering or dealing or whatever, i'd rather not know.
The hallways smell like a melting pot of every minority's cooking, and the combination of it all is completely sickening. Or, if they don't smell like food (of sorts) they smell like piss. There's usually trash in the hallways too, i guess their trash can was too far away or something..
I've never had any problems with roaches or other critters, but then again, I kept my apartment relatively clean, and didn't actually share a wall with any other apartment, so i'm sure that had something to do with it.
The hallways are also used as day care centers during the day and evenings so it seems, with all the little kids running up and down the hallways, screaming bloody murder as they go.
the tommale guy's horn is really annoying and he honks it non-stop as he's walking past our windows.
People drive down the street with their bass so loud it makes the pictures on my desk fall over.
I could go on for days, over all this place may be cheap, but its a complete dump. The area is HORRIBLE and unsafe...OH that reminds me, we saw a prositite at 10:30pm on saturday night on the corner of mclaughlan and summerwind, that was classy, she had sequence and everything, the real deal...Anyways, look elsewhere and spend a few extra bucks to live in somplace you could actually call home, cuz you definitely won't find that here.

I can't believe how crappy this apartment is... all the things you had to say sound EXACTLY like the complaints I have. Either they need to fix that place up or shut it down, because it is absolutely HORRIBLE!
