Not too bad a place to live, but don't expect your deposit back unless you hire professional cleaners and have the carpets shampooed - even if you've been a good tenant for almost 5 years

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2009
I paid a $900 deposit when I moved in November of 2004, and only got back $620 24 days after moving out in August of 2009 even though me, my son, my dad, and my grandmother spent a whole day cleaning. Admittedly, the apartment did not look just like it did when I moved in when I left. However, after almost 5 years, I'd say that anything beyond actual damage should qualify as "normal wear and tear." Now I'm left with going to small claims court to catch them on the technicality of the 21 day rule.
