Aircraft noise From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/28/2004 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004   All I have to say is to be prepared to live under the constant rumbling of aircraft taking off from SJ from 6:30am to after midnight. I have to sleep with my radio turned on loud (to generate white noise) to avoid being woken up at 6:30. Take a look at the flight patterns yourself on http://live.airportnetwork.com/sfo/ . Scroll down and to the right till you see SJ. Use the menu option to generate flight tracks for the last 30 minutes. You can see the whole lof of planes taking off facing north-west and making a U turn in a semicircle centered at this apartment community (N 1st and Tasman). Each plane that takes off spends about 1 or 2 minutes making such a turn in the airspace above you. They fly low enough that you can read the logos on some of them (esp FedEx)
