I have lived here about 2 years and I am finally moving this month. The only reason I stayed here this long was my daughters school was near by and I wanted to be by her. Since the 2 years I have lived here there has been at least 8-10 community manager changes. This is because Spieker properties that owns this place does not care about anything except the old mighty dollar. You will regret every bit of ever moving in here if you do. The managment is like walking into a preschool and asking questions to a bunch of kids becasue no one knows anything. Forget customer service they should call this "lets care about our personal problems before any of the tenants service" I know personnally that the Current community Manager "Olivia" was living in the complex for about 2 months then moved because she couldnt take living here. Pretty bad if the complex you manage offers you free rent and you move out because you find it unbareable to live. Lets not forget about the wonderful plants and the car ports that they just painted right next to the office so that when someone comes to rent they assume the whole complex is like that. Did I mention all the ammenities that they have to offer that do not work. The security gate has probably worked for a total of 2 days the entire time i have lived here and like I said I have lived here for 2 years. Every day when I get off of work there is a line of police cars looking for someone in the complex. The elevators are filled with graffitii management will not attempt to willingly paint over the graffitii unless you threaten them that your not paying the rent. Lets not forget the large dumpyard they got going behind the fence behind the K building that is filled with old sofas chairs refriderators dead Cats and feces all over that literally will peal the paint right off your car. The washers and dryers never and I do mean Never work.... The parents of the children around here do not make any type of attempt to stop there kids from throwing stuff in the pool, hence enjoy the tortillas, chairs, clothes in the water as you bask in one of the pools that they have to offer. Oh and lets not forget that wonderful sauna that never has worked during the entire 2 years I have been here but seems to be a great portapotty for all the people getting high at the pool. oh what about the brand new exercise facility that is always filled with little kids "less than 5years old" running around playing tag and breaking every peice of equipment they can lay there hands on while there parents politely carry on a conversaion in the same room while there childen are climbing in and out of the windows. And if you think your going to pleasure yourself by hooking up cable to your TV you better forget about that because the adults around here find it amusing to get on the roof of the apartments and splice into any live cable line on the roof to get free cable for themselves, this has happened to me 5 times and it is useually the person right next to you that is doing it. did I tell you about the tow service that spieker propertys has hired to unlawfully harass the tenants there. These guys are rude and think they own the place. One time I was outside about 9pm one of them came out of his truck and came up to me with a hammer in his hand asking what I was looking at. Now arent I the renter here and have every right to see what the heck is going on when I see a tow truck ride several times buy and look inside of peoples cars as though they are looking for something to take. Oh yes and of course the wonderful assistant manager Selena, you know the one that drives the grey SUV that practically runs you over when she trys to get out of there before she is suppose to so that she doesnt have to bother with any of the tenants. I guarantee you will get the rolling of the eyes and the most degrading look if you ask her for a reciept for the rent. Thats because its not her job to have to actually do something for the tenatns its only her job to "not listen to the tenants" This is because she is to busy righting eviction notices to the ""wrong people"" This is the same person that puts those nasty notes on the door says you didnt pay the rent when you did but she made a mistake so according to her she was busy and it wasnt her fault. Dont stand around for an apology because you wont get it. Lets not forget about the Property Manager that sits nestled away in Speiker Properties home office at 1020 Corporation Way Suite 100 Palo Alto CA 94303 her name is Jill Parenti her number is 650-968-2660 ext 119 her email address is jparenti@spiekercompanies.com she is a real treat. If you ever attempt to escalate a situation to her that has gone by after countless attempts with the on site staff you are sure to first get the heavy sigh and the reminder that she is above you and you are beneath her. Once she clears that little bit of ego trip for you she will then make every bit of attempt to make sure that Spieker is not the problem, it is you that is the problem. she visits the property maybe 1 time a month only to make sure all the rent is paid and to inform her staff of her new nail polish she bought. Lets now talk about the constant "at least 4 times a week" letters placed on your door by management staff that they are changing something around and if you dont get into the office to sign and agree to this change you will be subject to evictions. I have lived at many apartments in my time some are pretty bad but never have I lived in a complex that has such a blantant disregard for there tenants and such an inconsiderate assistant manager as Selena... I think they hired her because she is as ghetto as they come..... But wait theres more, now with all this going on Spieker properties has decided to do the tenants one more giant favor by raising everyones rent this December by over 100.00 cause according to them "they can".... But dont expect that extra revenue to go towards the complex becasue the Speiker children find it important to drive around in new cars and like I said there is that issue of jill parentis new nail polish that is a priority here at "college park lets screw the tenants even more apartments".... for those of you who are willing to take heed to this advise I congradulate you on not fulfilling your life with worthless hardaches and rude uneducated management staff. For those of you who either have already moved in or are going to be moving in, hang on for dear life because you will be taken for a ride that you thought was just not possible in todays society.. And for those of you that are wondering. "YES IT IS THAT BAD"
