Terrible staff ruins any positives

When I first moved in, the community was called College Park. I had quiet neighbors and the staff was friendly (Andrew was awesome). They were quick to respond to problems and I had no major complaints.

Then, in 2007, FPI Management, Inc. bought the apartment complex and changed the name to The Grove. I noticed that I started having louder neighbors move in around me and less of the nice, quiet families that used to live in my building. The once helpful staff in the leasing office was replaced with attractive girls who will say things in a nice voice but are totally useless. The manager is NEVER here on weekends and even if there is an emergency, they refuse to contact her.

Whenever we have maintenance requests, I have to ask them or remind them several times before it is taken care of. Even when the request is something serious, like the lights were out in the stairwell or there is puke in the hallway or all of the lights were out in the back parking lot, they still would take forever responding.

They started doing renovations of the complex that were extremely disruptive. They worked outside of the designated work hours and drilled holes in our ceiling from the roof. I had pieces of the ceiling all over the apartment.

There is never enough parking. Everyone has one designated spot and then you are on your own after that. To solve the problem, the leasing office started indiscriminately towing people's cars without cause. Word to the wise: don't leave your car in one spot for more than three days- otherwise it will be gone. But this fact is not in your lease or not on any sign.

I feel bad for anyone who moves in now because they have to pay for sewage, trash, and water, and for a deposit on the remote control to open the gate. (the gate which breaks ALL the time)

I am a rational person but they have made me pretty angry on more than one occasion.

I've been here for two years and don't pay the extra charges. In my case, although I've had to call a few times maintenance always comes and has replaced my garbage disposal and toilet. Management has always been responsive to me.
