ILLEGALLY KEEP ALL DEPOSIT MONEY TO renew other apts

We lived there for 1 year and when moving out, were told we could not fill in ANY NAIL holes, and could not get ANY PAINT in the exact match to do touchups. The Manager guy..VERY CREEPY...No social skills at all, said its so they could take care of it properly, and didnt want us to damage anything. We couldnt even use a CARPET STEAM CLEANER which we already owned to clean the carpets. The reason for this HE SAID is " You may damage the underlying of the carpet, and we may need to re-install the entire thing at your cost" SURE THAT SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF US..which is what he wanted. SO



WE SCRUBBED the walls for about 7 hours with warm water and a rag..and THEY LOOKED AWESOME..Sparkling WHITE..we vacuumed the carpets,and used 4 bottles of the instant carpet spray and clean stuff from longs..We GOT THE MAJOR spots out that way...and the rest looked fine...perfect for any cleaning they would do..like steam clean. WE DIDNT FIND out until leaving ....WOW...THE MANAGER HIMSELF HAS a SIDE Business...What you may ask...



HE Has a carpet cleaning business he does on the side. So we were charged by his business 125$ for the cleaning of the carpet. He charges a cleaning service a set fee for cleaning walls, flooring, bathrooms, etc..100/per day...but charged us for EXCESSIVE NAIL HOLE DAMAGES...HEY ...am i wrong or did he tell me NOT TO DO ANYTHING TO THE NAIL HOLES....We have always gotten every red cent of our deposits back at other apartments..not here...no sir...



So they had to "REPAIR " The nail holes, and then OAH...REPAINT to cover it up properly which they charged us for.. The walls were spotless let me remind you...I remember i was there and they looked great.



What else, prey tell could we be charged with' By the way we scrubbed the kitchen, bathroo, shower, used comet, other lysol cleaners, scrubbed the windows, and mirrors, it looked SO GOOD INFACT..THAT ANOTHER tenant who had lived there for OVER 10 years told us..WOW...this place looks so good, i hope my place will look this good when i leave...YOU DEFINATELY deserve all your money back...Good job...



I should have taken pictures when we moved in and when we left...and told him to put in writing that we cant have paint, nor are allowed to steam clean the carpeting, nor use the paint to do touch ups (ALL OF WHICH CAME OFF OUR DEPOSIT BECAUSE WE WERENT ALLOWED TO DO THIS)....



I wish i knew we would be so screwed.



NEXT CAME THE WALK-THROUGH!! Went rather well i may say..



He says to me " WOW..this place looks like you really worked hard to clean up..good job" and he wrote in his folder...on our sheet" GOOD ATTEMP AT CLEANING APARTMENT"



So we were thrilled to see that..wow...maybe we wont get screwed out of our deposit like other people here have said..i was hoping it wouldnt happen to me...if only i knew then, i wouldnt have moved in...



So he says" I will have the owner do his own walk-through when he is available, and you will get a check for whatever is left within GET THIS" 21 DAYS" WOW...so they didnt tell us right then what amount we would be getting if anything...HE ALREADY DID the walk-through and he is the manager...



He should have told us what money we were due back at that time...but NO...they wanted to do another MORE THOROUGH Walk-through without us ...so they can say whatever they want...



So When we got the paperwork in the mail after 21 days...out of our 750$ deposit, we were NOT ONLY NOT GIVEN BACK ONE DIME OF THAT TOTAL...BUT OWED THEM NOW 225$$$ to pay to them for damages...CAN YOU BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE....They crossed off the 225$ we owed them and put...We are Taking off these fees and making the balance a ZERO....Thanks for your business...



WOW!! I SHOULD BE SOOOO happy right!! What right have they to basically STEAL my hard earned money away and then pat themselved on the back like they are being nice people by taking off the last bogus fees...THERE WAS NO DAMAGE Except for a yellow stain on the linoleum in the kitchen..that i couldnt get out..probably from sauce that stained...THEY ARENT GOING TO REPAIR it either...



WE replaced the light in the bedroom to something more expensive from home depot...very elegent design..about 35$ for this when the original broke...We were CHARGED FOR Breaking the original..and they KEPT THE ONE WE REPLACED it with. UNREAL!!



THIS IS A BIG SCAM ARtist Apartment...He is VERY nosy, and comes in whenever he feels....We came home the 1st week of moving in and There is our wonderful manager repairing our stove for us...WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT...Not just him, but 3 workers with him...There they are looking around our living room like its a side show or something...UNREAL!!! We are so happy to be out of there! THEY Keep all your deposit $$$, dont repair ONE DARNED THING, and use it for other worse apartments for repair....



It is bordering on ILLEGAL...and i wish to GOD there was a better way to pursue action against these people...They should be shut down for these illegal actions( Well borderline illegal if anything)..its your word against theirs.



BY THE WAY..There were 2 pools at this place..they shut down 1 pool in the middle of the complex and KEPT THE ONE Next to his personal office...and the windows FACE RIGHT INTO THE POOL area...its tinted by the way...HE IS SUCH A WACKO...that is strange..



He has security cameras pointing to his apartment entrance, and another out by his car...



GEE ...HAS SOMEONE TRIED TO HURT HIS CAR because they were pissed'''' GOOD...



Thanks for listening...its just one of those things where VENTING IS YOUR ONLY OPTION...Legally i can do ZIP!!
