I admit that the few weeks that I have lived at Woodland Meadows is not nearly enough time to thoroughly judge the place, but I must say I am happy so far. David IS a nice guy, although he wasn't as quick to offer us the move in special as Rebecca. As far as fixing things, we got a list to them 3 days after move in and most items were corrected by the end of that day.
My carport has not been taken yet. If it ever is (I doubt it will be) I'll act like a responsible adult, leave a note on the car and if it happens again, in comes a tow truck. There is tons of parking relatively close to the units.
The complex is just a few blocks away from a couple shopping centers. On Brokaw (which is not a packed street like some other guys review said) toward 880 there is a PW Market, Togos, Baja Fresh, McCy D's, etc. Toward 680 on Brokaw (less than a block) there are plenty of Asian Shops in the Pacific Rim Plaza. Who said there wasn't anything in walking distance'
Our 2bed, 2bath unit (1100 sq ft) is huge. And for 1500 a month (they offer 8-15 mo leases) I'd say its a bargain. Washer and Dryer are included in the unit, and are not overly noisy. We got to see both a model unit, and one that was about to be moved in to. Through both of those (and ours) David pointed out where changes were being made, what was different and why, and what we could expect of our specific unit. That information was invaluable in our decision, and for him to go out on a limb by telling us some problems (tile on fireplace was replaced in another, but not in ours) he earned our trust as more than just a salesman.
For those people who complain about move in specials. Its called a "Move in special" for a reason. If you are renewing your lease, you aren't moving in, right' No other apartment is going to give you a move in special on renewal, so why complain about it here'
I don't doubt that when our 12month lease is up, rent will increase. At that point, we will determine if it is worth staying here at Woodland Meadowns. Had we used the 15month lease, thats a few more months of locked rent. If you don't plan on moving out of the area, take the longer lease.
Its so easy to complain, yet so hard to praise. For everyone (or probably just one guy) who complains about David, are you a jerk to him' I'd be a jerk right back if you came in bitching and moaning about petty crap. Every apartment complex has its quirks, and lucky for us, Woodland Meadows has very few. Parking is great, noise levels are great, the management is good (So far), and the apartments are spacious and clean. To me, the good outweighs the bad, although I have yet to see any 'bad' at all.
