My wife and I have lived here for several years, and we've been very happy. It's a short walk to downtown San Mateo (through a park, no less), we can get to Hwy 92 and 101 pretty easily, and the garage is clean and roomy (we do pay an extra $50/month for a second parking spot).

We've had minor problems with the hot tub being down occasionally, and as others have said, the asbestos ceilings and slightly older bathrooms are a bit of a downer. We've got a unit with two showers, although we saw that some units have one bathroom with only a bathtub.

Management has generally been good. Rents have been pretty consistent (went down on their own one year, as I believe they were having trouble keeping occupancy up).
