The unit I lived in was dark and a little on the chilly side. It was quiet. The location was great, walking distance to downtown San Mateo. However, the management turnover was pretty high. In the two years, I think we had 3 or 4 managers. The first manager was probably the best according to my roommate, who lived there a year longer than I have. The manager gets an apartment in return for managing the property, so they're on-site. However, they weren't always reachable. I left, but they seem to believe the rent was cheap (it's not). The police stopped by because some security phone line was tripped twice by our phone. We definitely didn't call them, so I think the apartment phone wiring is old or frayed.
