A nice place, for now...

This was a nice place when i moved in(oct 00). Surrounding area were clean and well maintained. I actually planned to stay here for quite a few years. Unfortunately, my least was for only 6 months, and my rent increased from 1100 to 1300 dollars as soon as my least expired. 2 months ago (june 01 or so), the complex was sold. From my understanding, the new owners receive some sort of government financing so they are required to rent a certain number of their units to subsidized housing. They couldn't meet that quota so many of us, including me, had our least terminated.
I don't know how the enviroment would change in the future, but I sure wont pay for a new least currently goting for 1500 dollars per month. That would mean my rent would increase from 1100 to 1500 dollars in one year! For that price I can move in to a top notch apartment complexes in the surrounding area.
I would recommend this apartment as it is now; however, I expect changes in the next year so if you have a choice, you may want to look for other apartments for now.
