Unfortunately I've been held captive here for over 2 years, but am planning a breakout by the end of the year. I am certain there are more peaceful and humane neighnborhoods within the heart of Iraq than here at "Ghetto Commons".
In 2000-2001, Contra Costa County granted funds to Hilltop Commons to undergo massive "rehabilitation".This meant slapping a new coat of paint on the buildings or more like the equivalent of putting a band-aid on a severed artery. Of the 324 units, MORE THAN 50% are leased to tenants with incomes below 60% of the median income.
Interpretation' If you want to live in a project one may as well move to Watts or Cabrini Green or then again, they could just remain here at Hilltop Commons.
As for the management/office staff' There are trained monkeys who have better communication skills, management and organizational skills and I'm certain an educational level greater than the three initials: G.E.D.which I am certain is the bare minimum (if any) requirement for employment in the office here. My heart goes out to the work men who are overloaded with repairs. I've always felt when you give people something for free (Section 8) there is no incentive or responsibility to take care of it and it is evident around here.
One just needs to drive through and view the garbage over spilling the dumpsters as many tenants don't even bother for accuracy-it is a health hazard as well as disgusting; the unsupervised children playing in the parking lot as there are NO PLAYGROUNDS, but it seems they are allowed to play amongst the cars and traffic as most have no parental supervision. And last but not least, the many gang bangers, hoodlums or as we call them losers, just hanging around. If you are interested in getting a set of gold teeth they are many contacts in this neighborhood.
The security tries their best, but recently informed us that they had "run out" of parking tickets and that the office "discouraged them from towing cars or citing violations"
Run from here! Do not look back...just run!

I resent the assumption that people on Section 8 are dirty freeloaders. I am on Section 8 due to the fact that I am disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. I am also a college graduate who invites anyone to check my home for cleanliness. Not everyone on section 8 chooses to be there, but thanks the government for the help.
