Only if you're GHETTO!

I have lived here for 1 year now and it is time to go! The only reason I remained for the full year was because of my lease. This place is horrible. The entire complex is too loud, all of the time!! They have suspicious looking people (and I mean every color) walking around all hours of the night. These people may live here, they may not, but they remain here all day. I can leave to go to work in the morning and come back in the evening and see the SAME idiots standing in the SAME spot. The actual inside apartment is okay, pretty modern, but the outside enviornment leaves a lot to be desired. I'm a single chick who moved here at the suggestion of a friend, she stayed 8 months. Everyone I've met that lives here is either planning to move or currently in the process. HAHAHA!! Seriously, it's funny how ghetto this complex is. Give someone else your hard earned cash, I know I am!

Okay I read your response and I agree that the commons aren't the greatest apartments! However, it is very disrespectful and stereotypical for you to associate the problems with the complex on being ghetto! Living in the ghetto is not something a person chooses it is an unfortunate situation caused by poverty and to insist that the complex should only be occupied by ghetto people is completely wrong! From all of the reviews that I have read the problems with the complex are because of the management not living up to their jobs not on being ghetto! The robberies that have occurred could have been prevented if the management had the units up to safety standards and know one knows that the people who were responsible for the robberies were "GHETTO" but because of stereotypes people have assumed that! I live in the HOOD, I have been living there all my life and not once have I been robbed, my lawn is kept neat and there is not a lot of trash all over the place so how about you think about what your saying before you label the problems with the place you have to live as GHETTO!!!

It seems to me that you are basically trying to defend the word ghetto. Why?!...lol. I'm not bothered by your response, you are definitely entitled to it. But just because you are comfortable with the environment that you live in, does not mean everyone else would be. I would fall into that category of being uncomfortable and therefore would have loved it if someone would've warned me before making Hilltop Commons my home. I said absolutely nothing in my post that was stereotypical. Stereotypical of what? The ghetto! The ghetto is the ghetto! A ghetto can be anywhere, an area of Richmond, an area of SF, or an area of Pinole. And I will write it again, "WITH ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE". I did not mean for the title to be taken to heart, just the message. Which is, that the apartments stink. I would suggest only moving in if you are someone that is used to the smell!!

I hear you single lady! I went to look at the commons and it was tryfling and nasty. If you want to live in a nice, clean, safe and quiet place try The Tides. It's next to Chevys by Hilltop Mall. Management is excellent. They dont play. good luck. Ghetto is Ghetto regardless to where it is. Richmond, Blackhawk, Orinda etc.... LOL
