When I moved in the complex was shabby but they had just started rebuilding it. I got a good deal on the deposit and the rent so I moved in.

Did not have any problems till it was time to move out. First of all the appartments we were moving to called Family tree for refrence and were told that we had lots of pets. My wife and I have never owned a pet. We confronted the management and they first refused to admit it and finally admitted it saying it was a mistake. We then had a move out inspection which went well. There were some normal wear and tear dirt spots on the carpet which we marked on the sheet. Since the deposit was low I was not expecting anything back.
A month later Family tree sent us a bill for $1500 Deposit. They claimed that the carpet was not salvigible and went ahead and replaced it, and wanted us to pay for it. They did not provide any pictures, nor any cleaning records, nor any reciepts.
First my wife called to talk to Mark (manager) and was misbehaved with. I called and this guy was extremely rude, almost abusive.
While talking to them, I moved to Southern california for job. I contacted a lawyer, but the the risk was that if I loose the case I would have to pay the amount the court fees, plus their council fees (if any) and it would show up on my credit report. Needless to say I paid the full amount.
These are just my experiences with the Family tree management. They have no issues lying to your face (do meet Maria to see this in person if she still works there) and are just rude and unprofessional.

Sidenote: Not a good place to live if you have a convertible. My car got broken in to twice, the second time inside teh covered door garage.
