We would go back without hesitation!

We were also there on co-op from Canada (seems like a lot of UW people end up there if they are working for Nvidia, as it's within walking distance). Janice (not sure if she's still there) was wonderful and really went out of her way to make us feel at home-- she even drove one of us to the bank in her spiffy Audi convertible when we needed a Cashier's Check.
The apartments were big and well-priced for the area, with dishwashers, good noise control (we only heard our neighbours once) and the few times we had maintenance concerns someone was there within the day to fix whatever was wrong. They were always very polite and professional. Each building has a laundry room, shared between (I think it was?) 8 apartments.
We lived there twice for two 4-month terms, and the second time ended up with an apartment that backed on to the garbage area-- try to avoid those if you have the freedom to sleep in because the garbage truck is kind of loud.
The property had nice tennis courts, a pool (unheated), lots of pretty greenery, and was within walking distance to a big Albertson's grocery store (in a plaza with a great little sushi place and a Chinese place with butter pecan prawns that I still dream about-- if you're lucky it's still there!).
This is really a perfect place for people on co-op terms, but now that we are done co-op and expecting a child, I could easily move back if we ended up in the Bay Area again.
